Course registration

Steps for new students who interested in registering Japanese language course with Waseda:

  1. Checking course schedule

Checking the start date of the course you’re interested in.

Waseda School offers 5 semesters of courses per year: first semester from January to March, second semester from March to May, third semester from June to July, fourth semester from August to October, and fifth semester from October to December.

The course schedule will be posted 1 month prior to the start date of the course. Then, the course will be opened for students to register.

  1. Placement test

If you already know some basic Japanese, we will require applicant to take a placement test before registering for the course, with a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes. We will have an hour for a paper-based test followed by a 30-minute interview. The results will be announced immediately after the test.

Bangkok: Mon-Sat 9AM-4PM
Sriracha: Mon-Thurs 9AM-3PM (For Sat and Sun, please contact for an appointment)
Chiang mai: Mon-Thurs and Sat-Sun 3PM-5.30PM

*For students who do not know the basics or want to start from the beginning, please select the starter course or module 1 for every course. For example, Day 1 of intensive day classes. (Please check the available seats for each course before registering.)

  1. Reservation

To register for a course (with or without basics), please check for available seats. If there are seats available, you can reserve them with the staff via phone, Line, or Facebook inbox.

  1. Payment

Payment can be made in cash or by bank transfer to the Waseda bank account provided below. Please give us a transfer receipt via email, including your full name and the registered course name.

Agreement

Waseda Japanese Language and Culture School, which is officially licensed by the Ministry of Education, offers Japanese language courses. Hereinafter, it will be referred to as the “School.” The individual enrolling in the course will be referred to as the “Applicant.” Applicants are required to read and understand all terms and conditions before enrolling. By submitting an application, the Applicant agrees to comply with all stated terms and conditions.

1. Seat Reservation and Enrollment

1.1 Seat Reservation

A seat in the course is considered reserved only after the Applicant has submitted the application form and paid the required deposit.

Deposit Rates:

  • Intensive Day Course: 4,000 THB
  • Evening & Weekend Courses: 1,000 THB

The deposit will be considered part of the total tuition fee. Once the deposit has been paid, the remaining tuition balance must be paid in full before the course start date, within the deadline set by the School.

1.2 Enrollment Confirmation

Enrollment is considered complete only when the Applicant has paid the full tuition fee.

If the Applicant fails to pay the full tuition fee within the specified deadline, the School reserves the right to cancel the seat reservation without refunding the deposit.

 

2. Additional fees besides Tuition fee

2.1 Enrollment fee 250 baht (Cannot be refund)

2.2 Studying materials such as textbooks and workbooks

 

3. Course cancellation or change

If applicant want to cancel or change the course, please contact the school’s administration department and fee is required as stated below:

8 or more days before the start date:

  • Intensive course 4000 baht
  • Evening and weekend course 1000 baht

1-7 days before the start date:

  • Intensive course 10,000 baht
  • Evening and weekend course 3000 baht

On or after the start date:

  • No refunds, no course changes allowed

Notes:

  • Course refers to the Intensive Day Course, Evening Course, or Weekend Course
  • Students may change courses within the conditions specified in the table, only if students enroll in a course of the same level or lower, where seats are available, and within the same academic term.
  • If no seats are available and the Applicant is unable to attend their originally enrolled course, it will be considered a course cancellation
  • Paid tuition fees cannot be transferred to another student or academic term
  • From the start date onwards, course, class, and room changes are not allowed

 

4. Tuition fee refund policy

The School will provide a full refund of the tuition fee only if the School cancels the course that the Applicant has reserved or enrolled in.

 

5. Certificate

School will issue the certificate and academic transcript at the start of a new semester. The issuance schedule will follow the “Important announcement for Waseda’s students” which will be handed to all students during the re-enrollment period. The issuance condition is as stated below:

The test score required for graduation in each semester should be more than 70% (not a retake score) and the attendance should be more than 70%.

 

6.Disclaimer

The School shall not be held responsible for any losses or damages in the following situations:

  • Class change or absence from natural disaster or any personal inevitable incident
  • Loss of personal belongings within the school that is not caused by the School’s negligence.
